Effect of Oxybutynin in Bladder Instability and Detrusor Hyperreflexia

Abstract

|
Twenty eight patients with bladder instability and/or detrussor hyperreflexia were treated wit_i oxybutynin chloride. The subjective response rate was 78.6% and 8 patients out of 12 had urodynami: improvement. Ten patients had significant side effects. The chief side effect experienced was dry mouth but this progressively subsided during treatment.
According to above results, oxybutynin was effective in the treatment of bladder instability and detrusor hyperreflexia, especially in urgency.
